X-FILES UNO

My wife and I have been binge watching The X-Files in preparation for Season 10 premiering this January. She’s seen all the episodes before (it’s her third time actually) so I consider her a big fan. For the holidays, I wanted to give her an X-Files themed gift. Nothing like a collectible toy or a poster or shirt, but something more useful and interesting. There's an X-Files video game and board game, but both of those would take up too much time. A card game would be ideal. Was there an X-Files card game? Turns out there wasn’t. So I made an X-Files themed UNO game in Photoshop and had it printed out for her.

The images on the number cards are from the DVDs, which happen to have numbers on them. I got the Skip card from a comic book cover and the Draw 2 card from the teaser poster to the second X-Files movie. The cover is from the X-Files Pinball game art. As for the comic strip, that was made by changing the word bubbles from an interior page of the X-Files / 30 Days Of Night #2 crossover comic book.

Of course, The X-Files is copyright Fox Entertainment and UNO is copyright Mattel.

EMOJI GALAXY M94

My latest piece is the beginning of a new series using galaxy images as a template for large conglomerations of pop cultural symbols. This one uses Emojis. I drew each image by hand, as you will see if you scroll down below. Then I scanned the drawings in to composite them in Photoshop to put together a 3D lenticular. My birthday!

Can't believe I'm 44. Life continues to be weird and interesting. Every day there's more stuff to see and experience. Health, wealth, happiness, good fortune and love to all my friends, family and loved ones. So grateful to you all...

Polybius

I was finally able to obtain a working POLYBIUS cabinet arcade machine. So far a few mild nightmares with the NIGHT TERRORS Higher Function Menu setting active, but sleeping better now with HYPNOGOGIC RECALL and HYPNOPOMPIC RECALL enabled. A brilliant game by SINNESLOSCHEN and an amazing job done by VINTAGE ARCADE SUPERSTORE in Glendale, California for making this a reality.

Anthrostero Tattoo Upgrade

Got my tattoo highlighted and cleaned up yesterday by Mark Mahoney of Shamrock Social Club. He's the same tattoo artist who did the original tattoo way back in 1992.

MASCOT MANDALA

My first major art piece of 2015 contains bouncy houses, sports mascots, and character trademarks from foods from Mexico, Japan, India and other countries. The 3D lenticular will be on display at La Luz De Jesus Gallery in March. To see a representation of what this image would look like in 3D, CLICK HERE.

The New Sanctum Sanctorum West

I recently relocated and just finished putting up my new Sanctum Sanctorum for my Dr. Strange collection. It holds almost every comic book and graphic novel appearance of Marvel's Dr. Strange. Also included are original works of art by Gene Colan, Frank Brunner and Alex Ross, among others, as well as DVDs, video games and toys:

A lenticular piece I made based on Marie Severin's art from Strange Tales #158. It's in a lightbox right outside the room which houses The Sanctum:

This closet adjacent to The Sanctum houses all my Dr. Strange t-shirts and my collection of first printing hardcovers of Neil Gaiman's Sandman:

My large display cabinet couldn't fit into the doorway of the room where The Sanctum is housed, so it resides in my living room:
