Dark Ipsissimus

This is one of my new pieces called "Dark Ipsissimus". It's a companion piece to my earlier work "Ipsissimus" and will be on display at La Luz De Jesus Gallery from June 2nd to July 2nd.

Hand drawn Ipsissimus

Just like in the last post, I decided to add another digital collage, Ipsissimus, to The Picture of Everything. Since everything in TPOE is drawn by hand, this piece had to be as well. Here's the result:

Here's the separate layers of drawings I made to compose the final piece:

Lenticular of the Day: Jack Parsons Comics

I made this one quite a few years ago around 2002. It's a digital collage made from a bunch of golden age comic book elements. For those who don't know who Jack Parsons is, I suggest reading his Wikipedia entry.

The Secret Book of the Black Arts

Back in February of this year I bought a book on eBay that was described as being a very rare softcover occult publication from 1878 called "The Secret Book of the Black Arts". I paid more than I should have for it because it seemed really interesting to me as a cultural artifact and wondered what kind of stuff it had inside.

Upon getting the book and having it examined by some friends, it was determined to not be an authentic copy from the year on the publication page, but a facsimile edition published later. The binding and paper stock were just not consistent with anything published back then.

Still, the book does have some interesting tidbits that I'd like to share...

Don't try any of this stuff at home kids...
