Me and Dr. Timothy Leary

I collaborated with Dr. Timothy Leary on the art for some of his books from 1992-1996 until he died. I was lucky enough to be in the room when he passed away, around friends and family, and got a standing ovation. Last thing I ever heard him say was "Beautiful... beautiful..."

Tim was my friend and I miss him.

Between 1990 and 1993 I made fifteen collages like this one, each laminated on foam core. This set of cut-up psychedelic imagery was displayed in the late great Nova Express Cafe as well as in Timothy Leary's bedroom before he died. Collages 2 through 15 will be posted in the days to come.
