The old "D'Arc Tangent" by Phil Foglio and Freff had a robot (with a man's mind imprinted on it) who was still in love with his mortal love... no kids in it tho.
But it is still one of my all-time fave comics!

Oh, and John Byrne had a "silent" story (in the "Art of John Byrne" book from 1980) that he wrote/drew about an astronaut who lands on an alien world, knocks up an alien girl and is frightened off the planet before she gives birth to his child - who is then raised by her and her giant robot protector.
